Mt. KOYA 1 Day Tour (from Kyoto)
NTA Good Point !
Visit Mt. Koya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where beautiful nature sites, Japanese tradition, Shintoism, and Buddhism come together as one.
This highland valley lies in a complex mix of temples, shrines, pagodas, and was once home of Kobo Daishi, founder of the Shingon Buddhism school.
Stroll along the pathway between 1,300 century-old cedar trees to the Okunoin cemetery where you can see about 200,000 tombstones and statues.
Also visit and let yourself be fascinated by the Kongo-buji Temple, which's name means Temple of the Diamond Mountain Peak. It is part of the "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range!
