A sacred place for Japan's mountain worship, Nikko is home to the "Shrines and Temples of Nikko," a registered World Heritage Site. On this tour, walk around World Heritage component sites such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine together with a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter. In small groups, customers go on a course where they can learn more about Japan while listening to explanations in English about Nikko's history, culture, and faith.

Basic Itinerary
11:30 Meet at Tobu Nikko Station
11:40 take the route bus
〇Kanmangafuchi Abyss (30 min)
Kanmangafuchi Abyss is a small gorge formed by an eruption of Mt. Nantai.
〇Meal Break (50 min)
Meals are not included. Customers are to have lunch on their own.
Cafes and restaurants near the rest area can bevery crowded. Preparing this prior to departure is recommended.
〇Nikko Toshogu Shrine (80 min)
A registered UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sacred place with over 400 years of history is where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, is enshrined.
Enjoy seeing the traditional beauty of the main hall, as well as the sleeping cat and 3 monkey carvings.
16:00-16:30 After heading to Tobu Nikko Station by route bus, the tour ends.

- The order of the tour itinerary is subject to change due to road conditions, events, ceremonies, or other reasons.
- Public transportation will be used to move around on this tour. Please note that seating is not guaranteed.
- In case access to Kanmangafuchi Abyss is deemed unsafe due to road surface freezing, etc., if Nikko Toshogu Shrine cannot be entered, or due to other operation circumstances, the tour may be taken to another destination. In such a case, it will be one of the following.
Futarasan Shrine or Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple
[Important Notes]
・Lunch is not included on this tour. Please prepare lunch in advance on your own. Cafes and restaurants near the rest area can be very crowded. Preparing this prior to departure is recommended.
・As there are slopes and stairs areas around Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Kanmangafuchi Abyss, wearing shoes with good traction and clothing easy to walk in as well as using a backpack are recommended. (A distance of about 5 km will be covered.)
・As there are land leeches from April to November, please be sure to keep your legs covered. We recommend wearing thick socks that cover the ankles and bringing bug spray.
