NTA Good Point !
“Yamaguchi, the Land of Oidemase Fuku” A trip to Yamaguchi full of happiness (=Fuku) is about to begin!
Yamaguchi Prefecture is open to the sea on three sides and is blessed with nature, such as mountains, greenery, clear streams, and seasonal flowers.
With spectacular views, experiences, and gourmet food, a trip to Yamaguchi is full of “happiness (=Fuku)”.
Kintaikyo
This beautiful wooden bridge with a total length of about 200 meters is counted as one of Japan's top three bridges. It was built in 1673 in the early Edo period, and depicts five arches with a length of 193.3 meters and a width of 5 meters. Cherry blossoms in spring, green trees in summer, and fall foliage add color, creating an elegant landscape.
Yanai Shirakabe Townscape
The rows of merchant houses from the Edo period continue on both sides of the 200-meter cobblestone pavement, and there are many vestiges that it was called a storehouse of the Iwakuni Domain and flourished as a commercial capital. The color and pattern of the lanterns change depending on the season, so you can enjoy a different view every time you visit.
Iwakuni Castle
Kintaikyo Bridge and the castle town of Iwakuni, which can be seen from the castle's observation deck standing at the top of the mountain, are spectacular. On a clear day, you can even see Miyajima, an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The Kintaikyo Bridge seen from the observatory is also recommended, but the view of the castle tower from the bridge side is also exceptional.
Iwakuni Castle Ropeway
Take an aerial walk from Sanroku Station to Iwakuni Castle, which stands at the top. Iwakuni Castle, which stands at the top of the mountain, is about a 10-minute walk from Sancho Station. You can overlook Kintaikyo Bridge and Iwakuni city from the ropeway and Sancho Station, and even the Seto Inland Sea on a clear day.
