Mr. Yoshida Shouya, a doctor and folk art producer, started a folk art movement in Tottori, believing that true beauty lies in the everyday items used by ordinary people.
This private tour takes you to the Tottori Folk Art Museum and Takumi Craft Shop, which he left behind, with an English guide.
•This is a walking tour of the city, with a total distance of 700 metres from Tottori Station.
• At the Tottori Folk Art Museum, you will be guided by museum staff, with an English guide assisting you.
• At the adjacent ‘Takumi Crafts Shop,’ you can find your favourite items and enjoy shopping.
• Enjoy lunch at ‘Takumi Kappo Restaurant,’ surrounded by Tottori folk art.
Experience the ‘Susuginabe,’ said to be the origin of shabu-shabu! It is said that Yoshida Shōya's arrangement of this dish is the root of the Susuginabe.

10:00 Meet in front of the ticket gate at JR Tottori Station
An English-speaking guide will meet you there. Walk to the Tottori Folk Art Museum.
10:15 Tour the Tottori Folk Art Museum with a museum staff member
11:05 Shopping time at Tottori Takumi Craft Shop next to the museum
You can purchase any items you like.
11:45 Lunch at ‘Tatsukumi Kappo Restaurant,’ surrounded by Tottori folk crafts.
Enjoy Tottori Wagyu beef in the ‘Susuginabe’ hot pot, said to be the origin of shabu-shabu.
※The guide will accompany you to the restaurant for ordering and will depart after the meal.
