NTA Bon Point!
Experience Asuka Village's distinctive kofun tumuli and a turbulent tale of Japan's first beginnings as a country. Take a tour of spots beloved by your local guide, featuring an ancient atmosphere and Satoyama cycling. Asuka Village, where the unspoiled landscapes of old Japan live on, is also the birthplace of Prince Shotoku, a "superstar" of ancient times. He launched the Taika era in 645, marking the transition to the modern nengo system of Japanese era names, and the events that prompted the famous Taika Reforms occurred here as well. In these ways, this is the "area where Japan began." In fact, the Emperor's title and the country name of Japan both got their start in the Asuka era!
