'HOKUSAI: ANOTHER STORY in TOKYO' is a next-generation immersive experience that allows you to feel as if you've traveled back in time to the ukiyo of Edo, featuring "video x tactile sensations x sound."
Katsushika Hokusai, the ukiyo-e artist who thrived during the Edo period, is widely recognized as a global artist. His fascinating life and diverse works are said to have influenced many Western art scenes, including those of Van Gogh and Monet.
In 'HOKUSAI: ANOTHER STORY in TOKYO,' you can experience the scenes of Edo depicted by Hokusai through "light, wind, earth, and sound," centered around his iconic series 'Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.'
Experience the ukiyo of Edo as seen by Hokusai through cutting-edge technology.
Using ultra-high-definition image data, the works of Katsushika Hokusai, which everyone has likely seen at least once, are vividly recreated on Sony's Crystal LED display, providing a highly immersive visual experience. Additionally, through Sony's haptic technology, which makes the floor feel as if it has transformed into a puddle or sandy beach, you can experience the scenery of Edo as seen by Hokusai and the sensation of walking through it with overwhelming immersion.
During the exhibition period, collaborative goods inspired by Katsushika Hokusai and crafted by brands with Japanese craftsmanship will also be available.

● Important Notes During the Experience
For safety reasons, the following individuals are not permitted to participate in the experience:
- Children aged 6 and under (except when accompanied by a guardian and experiencing together)
- Individuals who have difficulty stabilizing themselves and walking on both feet due to strong vibrations of the floor
- Individuals with medical devices that may be affected by vibrations or magnets, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, or adjustable shunts for hydrocephalus treatment
- Individuals with a weak heart
- Individuals undergoing medical treatment or who are not feeling well
- Individuals with conditions or symptoms that may worsen due to vibration-related stimuli
- Individuals with injuries
- Pregnant individuals
- Individuals wearing excessively high-heeled shoes (such as high heels, stiletto heels, or platform shoes)
- Individuals who are intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, or those whom staff determine may have difficulty safely enjoying the experience even if only slightly tipsy
- Any other individuals whom staff determine may have difficulty experiencing the event safely
Immersive Experience Guidelines
・Visitors must maintain stable standing and walking during the experience.
For safety reasons, visitors who require the use of prosthetics, walking aids, or wheelchairs are kindly asked to refrain from participating.
・Children under six years old may participate only if they meet the following conditions:
・There is no minimum age, but the child must be able to stand and walk steadily on both feet, even during intense floor vibrations.
・The guardian must provide close supervision to ensure safety. The guardian must hold the child’s hand throughout the experience and ensure that the child does not lie down or sit on the floor.
・One guardian may accompany only one child under six years old during the experience.
*Please note that the guardian must be 18 years or older, and identification may be required for verification.
・Participants must avoid making contact with the floor with any part of their body other than the soles of their feet during the experience.
・Watching immersive visuals may cause symptoms such as dizziness or nausea, similar to motion sickness.
*These symptoms may occur during or after the experience and could intensify over time.
・Eating or drinking during the experience, including chewing gum or candy, is prohibited.
・If you feel unwell, notify staff immediately.
・Guardians should closely monitor their children during the experience.
