【5km】1-Day World Heritage Nikko Walking Tour (With Standard Menu Lunch)
1. A sacred place for Japan's mountain worship, Nikko is home to the "Shrines and Temples of Nikko," a registered World Heritage Site.
On this tour, walk around World Heritage component sites such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine together with a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter.
This is a walking tour where customers will be walking for approximately 5 km.
2. A noteworthy spot off the beaten path in Nikko, Kanmangafuchi Abyss has been gaining a rise in popularity among international visitors.
It features approximately 70 statues of Jizo, a bodhisattva who cares for travelers and protects children, lined up along the gorge, and exudes a solemn and quiet atmosphere different from the temple and shrine areas.
*In the winter season (around December to mid-March), as it may be difficult to ensure safety due to freezing of roads to Kanmangafuchi Abyss or other reasons, the tour will be guided to Futarasan Shrine, Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple, Tamozawa Imperial Villa, or Nikko Botanical Gardens instead.
3. In small groups, customers go on a tour course while listening to explanations in English about Nikko's history, culture, and faith, allowing them to understand more about the magnificent buildings and sculptures from the Edo period (1603-1868). 【2025/01/01～】While congestion is expected at the location, an audio service with which explanations from the National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter can be heard will be available.
4. For lunch, a Japanese-style meal will be served. *Lunch on this plan will be a standard menu meal.

Kanmangafuchi Abyss is a small gorge formed by an eruption of Mt. Nantai.

〇Nikko Toshogu Shrine (80 min)
A registered UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sacred place with over 400 years of history is where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, is enshrined.
Enjoy seeing the traditional beauty of the main hall, as well as the sleeping cat and 3 monkey carvings.
【2025/01/01～】15:40 The tour ends at Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Feel free to continue enjoying sightseeing.
16:00-16:30 After heading to Tobu Nikko Station by route bus, the tour ends.

- Public transportation will be used to move around on this tour. Please note that seating is not guaranteed.
- In case access to Kanmangafuchi Abyss is deemed unsafe due to road surface freezing, etc., if Nikko Toshogu Shrine cannot be entered, or due to other operation circumstances, the tour may be taken to another destination. In such a case, it will be one of the following.
Futarasan Shrine or Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple
[Important Notes]
・As there are slopes and stairs areas around Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Kanmangafuchi Abyss, wearing shoes with good traction and clothing easy to walk in as well as using a backpack are recommended. (A distance of about 5 km will be covered.)
・As there are land leeches from April to November, please be sure to keep your legs covered. We recommend wearing thick socks that cover the ankles and bringing bug spray.
