The statue of Ryōmen Sukuna, founder of an ancient temple in Gifu Prefecture, is displayed to the public only once a year. This time, it will be displayed specially! See the historic structure beloved by foreigners. Experience making special amulets and prayer beads! This is an activity only possible at Nichiryūhōji Temple that you'll want to experience at least once!
・The Ryomen Sukuna statue is normally only displayed for one day a year, but we've prepared a special plan this time. ・You will receive a special Ryomen Sukuna goshuin stamp.
・Photography is allowed! Take home amazing photos!
・Experience making special amulets and prayer beads
Create a unique, special amulet exclusive to Nichiryūhōji Temple.

基本行程

10:00 Reception ➡ Sutra chanting in the main hall (Duration: 5 min) ➡ Temple explanation (Duration: 10 min)
10:15 Sacred image unveiling ➡ Viewing of Ryomen Sukuna (Duration: 15 min)
10:30 a.m. Amulet-making experience (Duration: 10 min)
1. Write your wish on the Japanese paper, including the inner talisman (wooden tablet).
2. Place the inner talisman + incense powder + Ryomen Sukuna's “Cord of Goodness” inside the paper.
3. Place the inner talisman into the amulet pouch, tie the string, and complete.
※Cord of Goodness = Forms a bond with the Buddha, enabling the attainment of merit.
10:40 Juzu Bead Making Experience (Time Required: 40 minutes)
1. Thread the cord through the main bead.
2. Insert the beads. (Insert one five-color bead for every 3-4 cedar beads).
3. Thread the cord back through the main bead.
4. Tie the cord with a Kongo knot to complete.

※What are the “Five Colors (White, Red, Yellow, Green, Purple)”?
White (Dainichi Buddha) = Purity: Purifies various evil deeds and defilements
Red (Amda Buddha) = Diligence: The benevolent heart seeking to save people never ceases
Yellow (Hōshō Nyorai) = Diamond: A rich form, solid and unshakable
Green (Ashuku Nyorai) = Root of Stability: A calm state, undisturbed
Purple (Fukū Jōju Nyorai) = Patience: Enduring insults and persecution with restrained anger
